Photographer's Note
On May 7th we moved from Ashford to Inverness. And our first trip was a long car driving from Inverness to John o' Groats (Scottish Gaelic: Taigh Iain Ghròt)
The photo is of a quite bad quality but it is one of the few I have, showing how flat the landscapes on the Scottish north east coast are.
“It is a village in the far north of Scotland. John o' Groats lies on Great Britain's northeastern tip, and is popular with tourists as one end of the longest distance between two inhabited British points on the mainland, with Land's End in Cornwall lying 876 miles (1,410 km) to the southwest.” (Source: Wikipedia)

Hello dear Viviane,
Yes, every time I venture north to John o' Groats I am reminded just how flat and relatively featureless the land is up there in the very northeast of Scotland - far less spectacular than the rough and mountainous terrain in Sutherland, just to the south.
Despite what you say about this photograph, I find it delightful! It shows the flat landscape perfectly with the sparse grassland and distant scattered dwellings as well as the distant deep blue sea - and all beneath a glorious sky with some very spectacular cloud formations.
The light and colours are lovely, your exposure perfect and the details and sharpness are exquisite.
Beautiful!
Kindest Regards,
John.

Hello Viviane,
This is so informative to those who have never visited this part of Scotland, for people usually have an impression that all Scotland is like the Highlands.
Although the land is relatively flat and featureless, the curved pathway makes a gentle guide, drawing attention to the green grass sandwiched between the much longer, tall coarse grasses.
The sky is an important feature and seems to be in perfect harmony with your composition, guiding to the same spot as the pathway!
The exposure is lovely and sharp, with colours that are totally credible.
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)
