The name Kelpies comes from a mythological lйgende about a beast possessing the strength of 10 horses. The Kelpies represent also an hommage to the “heavy horse of Scottish industry and economy, pulling the wagons, ploughs, barges and coalships that shaped the geographical layout of the Falkirk area.”

Hello Viviane,

I just love these Kelpies!
Would love one in my garden, perhaps a little smaller in size!!!
This close up works particularly well, revealing the structure of the sculpture and seeming to give it added strength by its strong, upward perspective.
The clarity is excellent.

Hier breng je ons een gedetailleerder beeld van het kunstwerk. Interessant om dit ook te zien.
Ik weet niet of het mogelijk is om het kunstwerk van binnenin te zien (zoals bij El alma del Ebro van Jaume Plensa in Zaragoza) maar dat zou zeker ook interessant zijn.
Bedankt voor je tweede bijdrage van dit uitzonderlijk kunstwerk.

I actually like this POV better. Not knowing the immense size would be a disappointment. Very impressive the skill that went into the construction of such a sculpture. I still would not like to have a couple of drinks at the local pub and stumble on these at night. Thank you for your attention.
