Photographer's Note

There is a lot of confusion caused by the name of this town, Barnard Castle, as the main touristic attraction there is not the actual Barnard Castle but a beautiful palace, which I have already showed here twice (CLICK HERE TO SEE IT) and which is simple known as the Bowes Museum. Everybody who sees the Bowes Museum thinks first that it is THE castle from which Barnard Castle town derived its name from. To get to the actual castle, quite lovely although ruined, you have to take a side street from the town centre. Taking into account how few people we have seen there, it is probably overlooked by most of tourists coming to Barnard Castle. The castle is located on a hill above a river, sadly I didnt have time to walk around it so this is a less interesting POV from inside the Barnard Castle.
