Photographer's Note
A photograph taken today during a pleasant (apart from some heavy showers) walk with friends in an area of countryside east of Glasgow.
We started our walk in Twechar which is a small former coal mining village though the mines are all now closed. Our walk took us from the village up to the top of Bar Hill, the site of a Roman camp, built around 142 AD, and along the line of the Antonine Wall which adjoins it. We returned, as you can see here, along the towpath of the Forth and Clyde Canal and were greeted by some young fellows in three canoes heading eastward.

Hello John,
What a lovely place middle of the nature, so wonderful green truly a place for a fresh nose.
The walker, the small boats and the river with curve make your picture attractive .
You create a lot of depth and perspective.
Composition and presentation are wonderful to look at.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John.

Ha! Ha! John, Scotland's answer the University Boat Race! Now which is the University of Glasgow and which is the University of Edinburgh? Good to see they have a referee leading the way!
A really well balanced photograph, with fine leads and a great sense of depth. I love how much greenery there is in your photograph. It creates a superb, highly textured environment where the characters stand out extremely well.
The river looks very still. The reflections are undisturbed in front of the rowers!
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)
We have had some torrential downpours, recently, but the forecast is much better for today. Hope it's correct as we are off for a walking experience!!

Hello John,
You don't post very often but your relatively rare contributions are always of a high quality. This is a delightful photo that should have received a lot more attention. People in red floating down a nicely curving river in beautiful green surroundings, meeting a trekker walking along a narrow path. It's a photo full of attractive curves, human activities and fine colours. Good depth, good balance, perfect exposure.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello John, there is a quiet interaction between the rowers and the trekker which makes a complete composition.(I hope that makes sense?)
The green banking threads its' way through the scene and offers a good perspective.
Of course the bright red and blue of the rowers jackets and the subsequent reflections immediately catch the eye.
A good shot, well done.
Regards Jean.

Ciao John
gente che va e gente che viene, alcuni passeggiano, altri galleggiano, ma tutti nella stessa foto, bella e ben composta, con i punti rossi che riflettono e attirano l'attenzione.
Saluti

Hello John,
This is well composed, sharp, and rich in colors. The lush green grass provides the background for the paddlers on the stream and the trekker on the foot path.
I enjoy the notes almost as much as the photos. Is Antonine's Wall different than that of Adrian?
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hello John,
I wonder how much impact this would have if the men in the canoes were wearing neutral colours! This is a stunning image with lovely, natural greens and the hiker and the canoes perfectly placed. Love the meandering river and the fresh atmosphere created by the rain that had fallen.
Kind Regards, Ann
p.s. been away on the camera club walking holiday that I organise annually. Walked along the Oxford Canal one day and dropped into Richard - all 14 of us!

Hello John
Well I can see you got some rain that day! Down here the grass is nearly all parched brown, and we've spent many hours watering the garden. By contrast, the verdant greenery here is delightful, and beautifully set off by the brilliant splashes of red from the canoes. Nice composition, with your friend the hiker balancing the chaps on the canal.
Regards
Will

Caro Giovanni
hehehe love the title. I'd like to be able to say it 10 times after a bottle of pluge. An idyllic scene in bobby Scotland. I love the balance the composition has, with the kayakers on one side of the divide and the twekker on the other. Stunning colours, perspective and symmetry. Perhaps the strongest element (aside from the red kayers in reflection) is the perspective created by the diagonal path and shoreline. A delightful green in between too. A green that only a country where it rains a lot can get. This might seem commonplace to you, but in my own country is quite a novelty.
Cheers and I wish you a wonderful evening
Lisa
