Love Locks, a photo from Tyne and Wear, England

Photographer's Note

These are the Love Loves on the high level bridge in Newcastle. You write the name of your sweetheart on the lock and then throw the key into the Tyne below.
The idea for the shot came from a work colleague. I wanted to get some of the locks in focus and the rest slightly blurred. i nearly got the shot right but i might try using a telephoto lens to get a tighter DOF and more out of focus.

Hi Chris,

Nice shot with the play of DOF. Did you read about the removal of the lovelocks from the bridges in Paris? They weigh too much - let's hope this doesn't happen to his bridge in Newcastle one day !
