NL: Hier op de foto: Whitby, Noord Oost Yorkshire. Het is het de afgelopen paar dagen afwisselend zonnig, koud en winderig geweest maar wij zullen niet gauw de sfeer vergeten van de vele kleine stadjes & dorpjes aan zee en ook de prachtige "Moors" gebied hier rondom Egton waar wij kampeerden.

F: Sur cette photo: Whitby, Nord Est du Yorkshire. Les derniers jours le temps a йtй changeant chaque jour et mкme chaque minute... Soleil, nuages gris et vents ont prкtй а nos images des villes & villages cфtiers cette atmosphиre si saisissante des rйgions du Royaume-Uni. Et les balades sur les "Moors" (Les landes) autour du village oщ nous campions, Egton, ont йtй extraordinaires...

E: Here on this photo: Whitby, North East of Yorkshire. For the last few days we have got stormy weather but also bright spells and great gray skies. We won't easily forget that part of Great-Britain with its picturesque little towns & villages at the sea and also the moody "Moors"around Egton, the place where we were camping.

hi vivianne like your shot of the west piet, you are so right about the stormy weather, we have just hade gale force 10 winds and a storm surge that has flooded the town centre, worst flooding for 60 years, I have just posted a B&W shot of the flood as it started

pretty photo. I can feel he cold wheater. I like the crop too. I like the lighthouse, it could be a very pretty place with a blue sky.

Hi Viviane,
The lighthouses are my favorite objects to photograph. At the first moment I though that is [email protected] photo but the info said that is in color. The gloomy day turns the colors to gray. Good pov with a sidewalk leading to the lighthouse.

Hello Viviane

I can't believe you wet to Whitby! I have been there too! It's an interesting place for many reasons but mostly it is a place where you can get decent fish and chips!

Nice use of the rail to lead the eye into the shot. Well composed.

Hi Viviane,
well you had much more typical weather in Whitby than the one I show in my recent photo from this lovely town. Sometimes I feel guilty posting those photos from England with blue sky, people may think that this is what they will see coming here.
So I am saying your photo is very realistic :)
Very attractive composition with the person walking the pier.
Last Sunday when I was there the lighthouse seen in this photo was covered with construction completely.
Lets hope you will have more luck to the weather this year :)

Hello Viviane,

I'm so glad that you liked this part of England for I do, too!
We have spent many happy times at Whitby, especially when the children were young.

You have given a very different view to that normally captured! Most people photograph the steps or the abbey but what you have done is show the mood of the weather, as it affects Whitby. Can you imagine being out on a fishing boat on a day like this!
Lovely use of the prom and the pier as visual guides to the lighthouse which is strongly positioned
I feel as if I need to put on a warm coat to share the journey with the figure!!
