Photographer's Note
Via via VIII: From our latest holidays in the UK:
E: We have moved from Roybridge to a camping by the Loch Greshornish on the Island of Skye. Our first day trip brings us to the west of the island, near Roskhill.
Stopped along the A 863 to have a closer look on the specific cattle of Scotland, the Highland cattle.
Wikipedia:
(Scottish Gaelic: Bò Ghàidhealach) (Scots: kyloe) are a Scottish breed of cattle with long horns and long wavy coats which are coloured black, brindled, red, yellow or dun.The breed was developed in the Scottish Highlands and Western Isles of Scotland. Breeding stock has been exported to the rest of the world, especially Australia and North America, since the early 20th Century. The breed was developed from two sets of stock, one originally black, and the other reddish.
Highlands are known as a hardy breed due to the rugged nature of their native Scottish Highlands, with high rainfall and very strong winds.

Salut chere Viviane
This little guy is very cute. The colours and definition of his coat and surroundings are beautifully rendered. He seems to be posing for you. The light is very subtle and well-controlled. Did you know that it is good luck to touch one of his horns? Although I do not recommend trying unless you feed him lots of biscuits ;)

Hello Viviane - The colours in the grassland works so beautifully with the colours of the cow's coat. I love this shot with its very good textural details and soft light. Warm regards Rosemary

Hello Viviane,
This is a delightful photograph of a very fine specimen of the Highland Cattle breed, beautifully depicted against a typical Scottish landscape of rough pasture and heather.
What really appeals to me about this picture is that you have shown no temptation to oversaturate the colours - for we so often see pictures of these beasts with too vibrant colours.
Fine composition, lovely light and colours and exquisite details and sharpness.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.
P.S. Nice to see that the problem of being unable to mark notes as "useful" is now resolved!
