Photographer's Note
The Old Man is one of the most photographed vistas on Skye and looks almost impossible to reach, perched high up on the fearsome cliffs of The Storr far above the road. However, it's actually quite a straightforward and not too steep an approach to the needle and the classic viewpoint above and behind it.

Wonderful DOF and POV Davy and I almost can see the Orcs coming around the rocks there, getting ready to burn down another village.......LOL
Great clarity and wonderful detail to color and light management and with your wonderful high ground POV, this photo has become very pleasurable to view. Excellent Job Davy!!

Hi Davy
This caught my eye today
its difficult shot to get in the bag and i think you have the shot but not the light. The wtong time of day i think.
A good record shot none the less with most of the detail visible on the rocks themselves.
I have been reliably informed that the best time to shoot this particular formation is in July.
This is when the light is just right (sun rising) to illuminate the formation perfectly.
Regards
John
