Photographer's Note

A leisurely drive around the coastline of Loch Linnhe rewarded us with gentle vistas which contrasted with some of the wilder Scottish landscapes. Port Appin is a small village in a remote coastal district of the Scottish West Highlands bounded to the west by Loch Linnhe, to the south by Loch Creran and an excellent base from which to explore the area.

A wonderful long perspective across the still waters of the loch. The saturated colours bring an ethereal feel to the composition, helped by superb lighting. Pin sharp clarity.

J'aime beaucoup ce point de vue, comme cachй derriиre les fleurs pour admirer le paysage. Les eaux calmes sont spectaculaires et reflиtent parfaitement les nuages. Le champs de colza au loin sont de toute beautй.

tutto mi aspettavo tranne che una foto scattata in Scozia. Perт , a parte il luogo, и rimasto il tuo stile inconfondibile fatto di belle composizioni, colori forti e contrastanzi e nitidezza eccelsa.

Hello Rosemary,

Superb reflections that add nice symmetry with wonderful warm cold colour contrasts between the red flowering fg bush and the blue sky and water. Good sharpness and the vertical format works well. The strip of yellow green vegetation in the distance also sets up an additional warm cold colour contrast that compliments the other. Tfs!

Rosemary, another beautiful landscape with incredibly saturated colors (and nice clouds, with a touch of purple). The sunlight in the distance on the field (if that's what it is) is a great focal point, as is the plant in the fg. Very sharp and detailed. Thanks.

beautiful nature shot with clearly seen first signs of autumn(I mean the plant in the FG).I really like how you composed the scene and placed the camera so close to the plant.It creates eye-catching effect!
Also the color scheme and these reflections are very pleasant and create here so nice,tranquil feeling.

Hello dear Rosemary

An idyllic scene, with amazing colours and light control. There is one thing that causes me a little concern (my OCD issue coming out here) and that's the placement of the flower/plant in the dead centre foreground. I know it was probably difficult to get the shot given you were probably standing in damp reeds, so my gripe is a small one. Have a lovely Friday, thanks for sharing.

A lovely and peaceful scene with fine colours. I really like how you have placed the brown/golden flower in the foreground. The surprising yellow field on the other side of the lake creates a splendid contrast. Lovely work! TFS.

Your title scared me!
Summer has hardly begun!

A well composed shot, with a great sense of depth. For me, the highlight is the cow parsley in the f/g which dominates and, after its attention, nods towards the rest of the features.

hello Rosemary, has soon as I spotted this thumbnail in your gallery I thought that it must be from my neck of the woods. I was right in part, it is Scotland but NW rather than SW where I live. But the light is a Scottish light and the fg plant typical of the plants turn up in my photos.I like the pov you have chosen that not only adds interest buy gives dof.You have found a lovely light too.
