The Victoria Tower on Castle Hill, Huddersfield.
Perched on a steep hill overlooking the northern industrial town of Huddersfield in the Kirklees area of West Yorkshire, the imposing structure of the Victoria Tower was built to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Queen Victoria's reign, and was completed in 1899.

La lumière incidente et sélective donne du relief à ce décor de rêve ; j'aurais diminué légèrement dans le bas à cause du papier sur l'herbe et nous aurons bien apprecié un texte descriptif.
N'oubliez pas que le monde entier regarde votre image.
The incidental and selective light gives relief to this decoration of dream; I would have decreased slightly in bottom because the piece of paper on the grass and we will have liked a descriptive text from yourself. Fantastic shot, with the kind of colour and light I can only hope to get one of these days...
That castle is incredibly sharp, but so much so that I keep wondering if you did a cut and paste job (or maybe selective sharpening). If you did do some post-processing I don't think that it needed it.

This is a very nice effort. The colors are imposing, and they fit the subject well. I think perhaps the post camera work is a bit overboard - I would have been tempted to turn down the wick a little on the total effects, and used mainly contrast enhancements.

wow!! Indeed incredible picture with etraordinairy 3D effect becuase of the sharp foreground. Maybe almost too sharp, so i also wonder about the post-pricessing, but this is where the new Harry Potter can be filmed!! very magic.

Taht shot is incredible, almost unreal, right out of a fairy tale. Where does this light on the tower come from ? Looks like there was a spotlight at the feet of the tower since the sun is hidden behind a cloud and not on the same side !!! Your black and golden frame works well too.

O enquadramento classico me agrada muito, a imagem sempre fica mais forte. Bob você soube tirar o maximo proveito das condições climáticas do lugar, obtendo algo como que tirado do "Senhor dos aneis" ou coisa parecida. Excelente trabalho.

Bob, this picture is fantastic, spont on. As if taken from a huge fantasy epos. Gloomy around the tower, sunset and still there is a little blue sky. Great details aswekk with grass and tower stones. Thanks for this great pic.
Only downside is the minimalistic note. I like people telling about their motivation to take a picture, how they came across it, was this pic planned? Or did you just capture this great moment by chance?

Great, great light. I know that in this conditions light changes often and very fast. But what puzzles me, is the edge of the wall on the right side. It looks like it has a tiny black line, and on the left side, at the bottom of the stairway, there is a green reflection, which leads me to conclusion that the photo was retouched in Photoshop.

That is one amazing photo, Bob! The composition is perfect -- light, shadows, contrasts, lines, balance -- it's all there. But more important is the totality. It instantly transports us to that time and place...and feels as though, in that spot at least, nothing may have changed since the last brick was laid.

Sujet intéressant, agréable à l'oeil. Bravo!
Beau travail de retouche.... mais peut-être à l'excès: on dirait plus une peinture qu'une photographie! Du fait peut-être de l'utilisation excessive de l'outil netteté optimisée et de teintes sursaturées.
Mon seul regret: l'absence de correction des déformations de l'objectif: une tour bien verticale aurait eu plus de gueule!
Et comme le souligne plus haut Didi, le papier qui traîne sur le gazon fait désordre. Et que dire des traces du jet dans le ciel, anachroniques avec l'esprit moyen-âgeux de la photographie?: c'est aux petits détails que l'on voit le maître!
