Photographer's Note
Reading Between the LInes
September - walking along the banks of the River Trent in Nottingham - across the wide stretch of river this lone figure reading set me thinking about what book he was into - I guess you just don't see so many guys sitting out reading these days. why was he sitting there alone - what did he need to learn this Sunday morning?
across a wide river -
this month of the falling leaves
turned one by one
.....and then I remembered the French obsessive form of the villanelle and couldn't resist a little light dabble!! ;-))
Learning About Love
Idling in September sun
I sit to read and fill my head
I wonder still if you're the one?
My memories so full of fun
my future thoughts now full of dread
Idling in September sun
I dreamt it was your heart I'd won
but waking found you gone instead
I wonder still if you're the one
mother's words, to a distraught son
"nothing's meant if nothng's said"
Idling in September sun
I call you - to see what can be done
the ninth time now, the line is dead
I wonder still if you're the one?
Now I see - love alone leaves much undone
it's in this book which I've just read
idling in September sun
I wonder still if you're the one?
,,,,,but as Jerzy just said it's probably just chill out time! :-))

my wife said immediatelly after seeing "oh, what a cool pic" and also this time i must agree with her;
minimalism (to some extend), "stable" omposition, tranquility;
very nice work, just a bit of ambient relaxation, time for poetry, time for some chilling tunes...

ps. found a lens to my old praktica, what a nice stuff: 1:1.8

Hi Kev,
all this talk of old school equipment is very interesting. You mean there was photography before digital?
Great photo, very well composed, very geometrically crisp and well put together. Good strong parallel lines and nice right angles.

Hi Kev. great shot, it is "chill out" scene, that's for sure. I like the minimalism and simplistic composition, the lines of the steps are great. nice job.

Wonderful shot, with superb design added to what could be read a thousand ways. I love your minimalism and your poem to accompany the beautiful, harmonious b/w with such great rythmic patterns!

An excellent one, Kev!
Why? Because of a good conversion into b/w, nice tones and good composition.
Very simple, yet well seen!
Merry Christmas,

I really like minimalist photos. I sometimes think they give more room for thinking and being inspired than photos heavily packed with details, peoples, objects, etc... And this one is good reflection of how I can spend some of my days, haha.
I was thinking, I would have maybe cropped the photo even closer to the bench to get rid of the shade that is a bit distracting the eye from the guy sitting.
Anyway, another nice one,
Vincent
