Photographer's Note

Little Betty's Cafe in York near Stonegate.
In York there are so many ancient buildings that the walls are often all shapes and angles and it is difficult to line up ones shot.This was the best that I could do.
Betty's cafes are famous for their quality and service;as far as I know they can only be found in Yorkshire.[Please correct me if I am wrong.]
I liked the quaintness of this shop front, hope that you like it too.

I know exactly what you mean by the the crucked walls, we had the same difficulty when we where there in the summer, and i think you have taken this shot very well, nice colours, what is in that bottle on the step it isn't what i think it is, did you find out, what it was jean, Happy new year Jean for 2007.

Close up shots like this add to your portfolio and balance a collection of landscapes. I like the small details in this shop that are visible.

Jean, I was going to say it's not level but you have explained that. Even the numbers on the door aren't level ;) Do you know, I have never been to York. Disgraceful. Like this Jean and will make a point of visiting soon.

Hi Jean, I love this shot of Bettys, brings back some good memories, I visit York at least once a year and the first time I went I would told by friends I must pop in here for tea and cake, to which I did and really enjoyed it. Nice shot and thanks for sharing best regards John.

Hi Jean,
There is an old colonial area in my U.S. hometown that presents the same kinds of challenge and I must say the slight tilt this photo is the only thing noticeable. Very sharp clear color and fine detail. I love how in some spots we can see clear through the shop windows and others we get fine reflections. Congratulations job well done.

Hello Jean,
The front of Bettys Cafe is well framed!
This is an interesting place, and you capture many interesting details both inside and outside...
It is hard to imagine this is one of a chain of cafes, as it looks like pretty unique to me!
