Hi kaj,
Nice angle,
Nice amber color effect.
Total composition is wondeful...
Green reflection in the glass is wonderful.
But just very tightly cropped..
My eyes are asking to have this shot bit wider..
Very well done. No bad commnets..:D

Another penetrating shot.
As sharp as any other ( mean keen sharp).
Got some cropping problems.
My suggestion: crop out the left side all the way to the bottle on the table, and almost entire floor.
That way you'll have TWO pairs tightly cropped in a passion.
Ang again..it's not to late.I'll come running. So the others too.
Bless your restless soul,Kaj.

Hi Kaj, this is beautifully seen and I'm surprised it's not attracted more attention. For once, I disagree with 'polonaise'. I think the full frame shot tells a story, shows a frankness brought about by all those beers. I love the counterpoint between the couple at the table in deep discussion and the couple standing and cuddling. I like too how you've not corrected the AWB (I guess you were shooting in RAW?). VERY nice. Stephen

wow! yet another great addition to the theme from the "invisible woman".. this is a true gem kaj, a classic relationship photo. absolutely nothing to complain about here. wouldn't crop a pixel.. you have some nice shadows on the floor in the foreground and getting rid of any part of that amazing table foot would be a crime. imo the guys shadow on the wall and the other couple balances well what may otherwise be a bit too centered compo. just wish maybe for a bit more details on the girls's face but considering the lighting and the circumstances, it's really sharp...
very well done!

I think the couple on the right deserve a photo to themselves...that light and the discarded glass.....
As it is they provide a telling contrast with the serious couple on a few levels.
It's made this shot for me. That boat trip really inspired you!
Thanks

The parallel between these two couples really communicates what you were after. Even the colors in the shot seem to aid in the story. The left seems heavier with the orange light and the right seems to lighter with feeling of reconciliation provided by the white light. One wonders however if the alcohol is talking or bringing the mood down on the left. I also really like how you gave the left side so much dominance. Hard conversations always seem so much larger then they really need to be.
Well done,
Philip

That's brilliant Kaj, great contibution to the couples theme. This one looks like you've rolled a whole lot of your favourite influences together, in a very effective way.

Hi Kajal,
While other boat shot have less obvious, maybe even made up looking theme, this is real. Painfully real. Quite a few drinks on those icky plastic cups, sad face, hand in hair. And the other couple on the other side, other feelings, even the light is different.
Agree about crop with Polonaise.

Brilliant! The frame divided into two, apparently similar posture yet we know the difference in the feeling. Very well seen and captured with perfect timing.

Hi Kaj.
This is briliant... I love the way the frame is divided... The couple at the right hand corner...gosh that is GREAT.. Surprised this was shot from the hip!! TFS. Bala

Nicely seen once again Kajal. I like the accidental tilt for this one where two scenes on the same theme are going on with different feelings however. The ambiance is melancholic.
all we do is make up...and break up... and dink a lot

hey...
i think this is one of your best photos. extremely candid. and very emotive. the light is just right, and the hints of expression on the faces, and elsewhere are painfully true.
amazing work.

This is excellent. I love this idea you have, of photographing our "leisure time", and this to me is a classic photo. Love the angle and tilt, and the amazing division of the frame with two separate scenes. Wow!

What I like about photos which have 27 points with only good things said about them is that you can rest your brain and say "I back-up everything that has been said so far" ;-). But seriously, what can I add about this very sensitive and penetrating shot? (oh s**t the word has been used already, damn it! ;-))
- I could count the glasses.... Ok, I would say 13 including the one in the bottom right corner and the one below the table (but I'm not so sure as it's not so sharp on the table... Haaa here is an original critic... sharpness …no I guess it sucks).
- I could try to get inspired by the title... “make up”... or “break up”... Well I got no doubt about the guy on the right, that's "make up" for you ;-) Maybe he's just saying bye to a friend? Puh-leazeeee! If it was a (“just”) friend his right hand would be slightly higher I believe (I'm shocked... ;-)). But for the other couple... hmmm. The guy's doing the "right-hand trick" on her knee so it can't be his "just friend", right? Yeah yeah but wait a minute, she's got a face saying "Hey buddy you'll have to do a little more than wearing a fancy white shirt to be part of the "make up" club tonight” (Yet the face is not so sharp either to be sure about her expression (haa a second good critic... yeah you're right it's the same as the previous one and it already sucked in the first place...)). So break-up? Wait another minute, it's not gonna be that simple... The guy has put hair gel... So what you would ask? Well if the guy has put hair gel (which he’s trying to show her with his left hand - the left hand trick), invested in a fancy white shirt and is ready to get on his knee, well I don't think he's gonna let go that easily...
What? You are saying that in fact you know the guy and he's just asking his sister where is the car key? Oups, here goes another “out of tune” critic …
Well, what the hell… gonna boil some eggs…

Kajal.
The world around has so much for us... it's sometimes too good, and too bad at times.. so, these images open up our minds of what to have and what not to have. The world will fly fast, and will our souls get the desired "moksha" in the end?
