Photographer's Note
Walmer Castle was built by Henry VIII in 1539–1540 as an artillery fortress to counter the threat of invasion from Catholic France and Spain.
At the centre of Walmer Castle is a circular keep, surrounded by an open courtyard and protected by a concentric wall, from which four, semi-circular bastions project.

Hi Agnes,
Wonderful pic, the idea to frame the castle with the arch is brilliant, and the castle itself does look quite fairy tale, I can imagine King Arthur inside there. The arches in front of the lake add a nice contrast to the stone castle. The box hedges remind me of the movie of Alice in wonderland for some reason. I'd never heard of this castle, thanks for sharing.
Best wishes

Bonsoir Agnes

Howdy Agnes,
Beautiful garden projected through the arch frame, with pond reflecting temple like structure, then the ancient massive stone Walmer Castle, still in good shape after the centuries.
Looks like an excellent place to spend a morning, afternoon, or both.
thanks for sharing,
Cheers,
Ray

Hello Agnes,
I have never been to this part of England so it is interesting to see what I have been missing!
I just love how you have used the archway, in the f/g, as a very natural frame for the castle; it immediately peps up the interest. The light appears quite strong but you have coped with it very well to keep the colours strong without any oe.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Dear Agnes
I love the framing of the castle by the wrought iron arch, the castle that stands the beautiful blue sky and the reflection in the pond. Pity the fence at the bottom of the photo.
Enjoy your day.

Hi, Agnes,
I like your idea to use these gates as a frame for so interesting composition. It could be a cover of a book with fairy tale, and you also could write a title on the blue sky, for example ;) Well done, good presentation of the castle.
Best wishes from sunny Turkey!
