Photographer's Note

The Derborence Lake is the youngest one in Switzerland, as it was created in 1749 following the Diablerets landslides that swept away all the chalets nearby. In 1959, this zone was designated a nature reserve. There are trees here estimated at 350 years of age. At this place, it's also possible to see the golden eagle.

Le lac de Derborence, le plus jeune lac alpestre d'Europe, est n d'un terrible boulement qui a eu lieu en 1749. L'endroit est grandiose et accueille l'une des rares forts vierges d'Europe, une faune (aigle royal notamment) et une flore exceptionnelles (On y trouve des arbres dont lge est estim 350 ans).
