Photographer's Note
Locomotive number 7 from 1873 climbing towards Rigi Kulm with a pair of vintage coaches. The line from Vitznau to Rigi Staffelhöhe is the oldest mountain rack railway in Europe, opened in 1871. Final stretch from Staffelhöhe to Rigi Kulm opened two years later.
I don't normally alter my pictures by removing any visible objects. This time however I have cloned out electric wires to achieve appearance of the place before electrification of the railway line in 1937. Soft light is a result of literally being inside clouds near the mountain top.

Another interesting view of this strange locomotive, but this time in a more casual stance. This one works even better as a "time machine" than the previous one.
All the best,
Emmanuel

Hi Kari,
Looki like a wonderful tour, though the clarity if not great, but I do like the misty air of the mountain. Once again the sepia treatment, giving the photo a classic and vintage look. I like it, especially on this subject matter of an old locomotive, I can here the chu chu already. Thanks You. Have a great weekend.

Hi Kari,
The black & white format with the mistic frame really give this antique train a lovely antique look.
Love the black smoke penetrating the thick fog.

Hi Kari, what a timeless photo! This could be taken yesterday or 100 years ago. Great choice with the speia and the muted tones are a great effect. Congratulations, Lisa.

Another excellent shot with the antique treatment to complement your previous post. The mist makes the image appear more authentic. Now.... if you could just have persuaded the passengers to wear clothes of the time....... ;D

Hi Kari,
You present us a picture from 1873! Very nice treatment.
To be a real old picture, you only have to change the clothes of some passengers ;-)

F.

Hej Kari,
A great choice to use sepia and this kind of fame. The result really looks like an old postcard. A lovely misty atmosphere.

Hello Kari,
it was a very good idea to present us this misty mountain tour in ancient-looking sepia colors. Could be really taken one hundred years ago. Nice effect. I like it.
Best wishes,
Helmut
