Sightseeing on Sцdermalm, a photo from Sodermanland, Svealand

Photographer's Note

One one of my almost daily walks on Sцdermalm I happened to see this group on a guided tour in one of the old districts of the island. I liked the atmosphere, the nice surroundings and the distant view of the posh district of Цstermalm across a bay of the Baltic Sea, so I took a photo.

The guide is the third person from the right, partly hidden by the lady in the dark green coat. It was a Swedish group.

lepa scena sa ulice i arhitektura, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspektivom i uhvacenim trenutkom.

Stockholm is a beautiful city, I managed to get to Malmo and Lund :)
Excellent shot from street.

A group of tourists and the background add flavor to this composition.

Hello Gert,
Everyone in this group is still warmly dressed. Yet, it looks like a beautiful and sunny day.
From this place one indeed has a very nice view over the water and a part of Stockholm.
Nice colour contrast between the ocher and yellow coloured facades and the blue of the sky.
The yellow tower with its dome attracts attention. Another tall building further away rises very high above the city. Maybe it's a nice building up close but in this photo it can't compete with the buildings along the quay.

I was thinking to use such service in my next trip, in a city famous because violence. this expeditions are nice to see points we can't find easily, having more information about, but at same time we have more liberty walking free.
excellent image using well the barrier of personages and the city exposed around.

Hello Gert, a scene that we can see in many cities, visitors learning about the place.
You chose a good point of view where you give us a lovely view in the distance.
The light was good; a very colourful scene.
The colours of the buildings are attractive and as I see more of your shots from Stockholm they are the favourite palette.

Perhaps they were from Gothenburg or Malmo? It would be unusual for Stockholm residents to tour their own city with a guide. I went with a tour group in all 5 Australian States and Territories outside Qld: Tas, Vic, NSW, W.A. & N.T. Good depth with the domed building in the bg. Tfs!

This is a super composition!
There is such a lot of interesting information in the f/g, created by the tour group. We can see that some of them are focussing on the tour guide, whilst others are helping to guide down the steep hill towards the 'posh buildings'
I love how the f/g buildings are acting like a funnel, guiding inwards and, despite them not being the posh buildings, they do have greater impact!
The scene is really well exposed and saturated. You could be acting as an advert for the beauty of Stockholm!

Very nice scene for a life of a tourist. Great point of view with the elegant buildings in the foreground and the panoramic view opening in the distance.
I like the sky, even though it is so cloudy there is plenty of sunshine to make the scene very colorful.
Nice asymmetric capture.

you mentioned the Posh area...is that an area you have posted before for us? If not, I'd love to see some of that Posh architecture. here we get a great sense of the up and down hills, am i correct? Funny because I have been here and don't remember there being hills at all...hmmmm...but that WAS a long time ago for me. Anyways, interesting to see this was a local group. excellent shot with the clear bg cityscape to cap it off smartly. cheers

Hi Gert
There are so many places in Stockholm with breathtaking panoramic views. In London, except by the Thames and from top of skyscrapers I can only think of very few of those like Richmond Hill or Parliament Hill. You have shown us another photo in WS recently and of course I remember my own walks in your beautiful city.
Here, apart from the view and wonderful light we also can see a well captured foreground made of people. Well taken group photo and the lady in red on the right is a bonus.

Hi Gert. How's it going?. I'm back.
The truth is that after so long without traveling with the pandemic, they really wanted to do it, these have been short trips of 8 days and without leaving the country.
This composition is splendid, captured at the right moment, with the group of tourists in the foreground, who seem to be seeing the beautiful perspective and perhaps also wondering whether to go down the steep slope of the street or follow another route, beautiful and pleasant moment.
A magnificent range of colors, which gives an attractive color scheme.
Very good management of luminosity, as well as the sharpness of the image.
A good job, with which we enjoy. I love it.
