Sunny afternoon, a photo from Sodermanland, Svealand

Photographer's Note

On one of my walks on Sцdermalm island in Stockholm I saw these persons enjoying the afternoon sun in the garden of this nice house from the 1790's. The view was partly obscured by trees, but I managed to find a gap between branches.

This is one of several old mansions from the 17th and 18th centuries still remaining in central Stockholm, most of them on Sцdermalm. They were usually built as summer residences of rich families of the aristocracy. Those remaining today are in most cases used as offices, or they can be rented for conferences or parties, as is the case with this one.

In the WS is a photo I borrowed from the internet, showing the entire mansion from above.

Hello Gert, you took advantage of the sunny weather and that there were no leaves on the trees to give us this view of the old house.
Its colour is very attractive plus you have the colours and textures of the roof.
Good to see people enjoying the sunshine, even if they did need to wear their coats.

Well, yes, they were large family mansions in the past, if each building of the three that we see in the WS were only for one family, they did not have a problem of space, here we see a very nice photo with all these trees that give a great graphic design with its bare branches, people sitting in the sun is a magnificent touch of life.

Jeg ved ikke hvordan det er i Sverige lige nu, men efter nogle efterеrsagtige uger er det nu vinter igen hernede i Holland og der er sne i store dele af landet. I dette billedet fеr vi se lidt forеr igen med noget fint sollys og mennesker der nшd dagen foran det gule hus. Godt fanget fra en god vinkel.

nice view of the people enjoying the sun in a cold day. we do this during the coldest days of the year, not so much, in the other days we would be burned fast.
today a city at south of mine broke its record of lower temperature for march, 3 celsius, and the summer was gone only a week ago.

A building where I would immediately bet on Stockholm, even if I didn't see your name and that of the location.
Only the light yellow colour of the facade is perhaps still a small surprise.
Beautifully presented with the red tiles and the blue sky visible through the leafless winter branches.

Hi Gert,signs of spring and they all come out in the sun like lizards, and it is something common to our entire continent. Here we have already had a beginning of spring, while now it rains, finally, and the farmers are happy too. Hello gert, Nice scene, looks like spring has come. We had also such sunny and warm days, but yesterday it snowed and now we have a lot of snow, more than during the whole winter.
Nice house, I like the colours of the walls and roof. I saw on Google that there is a good restaurant there or the rich tables were prepared for the party. And I see small yellow flowers close to the wall, I do not know what they are.

Hello Gert,

You did well to find a spot where the trees were useful yet did not spoil the view of the building or of the people busy enjoying the sunshine.
We can clearly see the details of the building, with its distinctive Mansard Roof, in warm colours.
I just love how these figures are appreciating the weather! Two are reading, one looks to be asleep and two are involved in intense conversation. At this time of the year, when the weather is still quite cool, I would not expect to see people outside, like this, unless they were outside a pub, enjoying their drinks!

Very pleasant place to catch some late winter sun. I'm surprised how early spring came to Stockholm! Is it only this year? There was a period of warm weather in Poland around that time, followed by the big snowfall Malgo and I posted about.
Love the yellow flowers and thanks for adding the aerial shot.
