Photographer's Note
Another discontinuity in the travelogue of my last Summer holidays. Let's jump to Barcelona!
I guess the city doesn't need any introduction, being the second largest city of Spain and the capital of the deservedly proud Catalonia. The place where this photo was taken, Las Ramblas, also known as La Rambla and Les Rambles, is also probably known by anyone who ever interested in knowing about the city. It's a bustling, mostly pedestrianised, wide street about 1.2 Km (0.8 mi) long where one can spend a whole day strolling without a minute of boredom.
Maybe you know any of the artists... I am not talking only about the ones in the drawings and certainly not about myself. Do you really need a clue? :D
In the WS's I present what was going on on the right part. I can't decide if I prefer the wider crop of the WS1 or the tighter one of WS2. What do you think?

Good idea to capture another photographer like this. The colors of the trees really look magnificent. Perhaps I might have cropped out the artist on the right. I feel like her back is a bit of a distraction. Other than that the shot is great though.

Hello Jose,
Good pov to show a street of art galleries, many painters here to make portraits for tourists, lively shoot, well done.

Hi Jose
Although #1 catches the ambience, the backdrop is a bit too clutterd. I wonder why didn't you take artist's POV in your
WS pictures. Could have been interesting to see the model's
expression
The main picture is a pretty neat street shot... with those
portraits and artists. I love the inclusion of that photographer. He is lending story to your picture.

Excellent market life shot, excellent colours while the photographer adds interest. Certainly a fantastic city is Barca. I am also thinking of getting the Sigma 10-20mm, what are your thoughts on this lens?

Jose, it has been more than a quarter of a century since I strolled here, but it just as beautiful as I remember it. The cameras and the dress of the tourists are a bit different but your shot shows it to be as relaxed and peaceful as I remember. Great capture.

ricardo

Hi Jose,
Just wonderful view. You have managed to capture the soul of the Ramblas on this shot. And that's a difficult thing to do, so much happening around. Those drawings of street artists catch attention well, while there's lots of artists and pedestrians around. And the photographer gives something to relate to.

Amicalement,
Emilius

Olá Jose,
nice this daily snapshot of the worldwide known 'Las Ramblas' in Barcelona.I like all these open air artists with the man on the left, to try to 'catch' the decisive moment of the painter's work.I like this reportage shot.Well done.

Bonsoir, cher Jose,

Bets regards.

Hello dear José,
This is a much better than any shot I took on las Ramblas on August 3. But I would have avoided the photographer! Seriously, I am flattered that you included me in the image. I see that I needed a haircut very badly, and I did get one shortly after I went back on the ship. You were kind to leave out the "boot" that I was wearing, that I was hobbling with, because of the injury to my ankle. It's a great shot, showing so many facets of this lovely street, a true slice of life in Barcelona. Meeting you and your family was one of the highlights of the cruise. I am inspired to go back and post some images from Las Ramblas myself, specially with your son in the image. I am adding a ws to one of your wss.
Warmest regards,
Bulent

Of course this one is the best and i like all of the pictures (incl the ws) This indeed a spontaneous and original street shot and the final result is very well. That paintings together with the guys and specially the photographer are a very nice combination. An attractive shot Jose, thanks for sharing and have a great sunday...

Ola Jose,
Buen trabajo
Saludos

Hello Jose -
Too tell you the truth I like the main post much better. The WS scenes shows us the behind the scenes view, but they are much too cluttered as a wide view and distract from your subject. (Just my opinion for what it's worth.) The main scene has a lot of life to it with the photographer in the FG, the artists work displayed, and the general feel of the crowd and place. I have visited these venues throughout Europe and find them a wonderful place to capture images. One of my favorites, not necessarily an art show, was the Saturday market in Arles in the south of France. So many scenes of food, flowers, art, and vendors. Besides the visual delights the smells were wonderful. That Saturday was one of the main highlights of my our 14 days in Provence. Well done! Technicals are spot on and the contrast controlled.
Thank you for sharing.
