‘On the ramparts of Cбceres’

For a change a picture from my archive.

In the heart of the south-western Spanish region, Extremadura, you will find Cбceres, a wonderful place for travelers who like to visit historic cities.

Cбceres offers a huge architectural treasure within its walls. Its many palaces, churches, stately houses, picturesque squares and narrow, cobbled streets will tempt every photographer.
The historic heart of the city is completely surrounded by defensive walls that look impressive from the different sides.

You can also walk on these walls.
Unfortunately only on a very limited part. Hereby a view of that part of the town walls.

Hallo Paul,
Mooi uitzicht over de vele stenen muren met verschillende patronen hier rond om de stad. Ze maken een mooi contrast met de witte gevels aan de linkerkant. Het zachte licht is heel plezierig en laat de kleuren mooi uitkomen.

Hello Paul, Nice break in your Colombian series. Impressive city walls, nice tower. The picture looks very inviting. Is it far from Barcelona? I go to Barcelona in March, maybe I could visit Caceres too.

I like the compactness of brown and grey walls and the good depth you have achieved, partly with the help of the persons on the wall. The fine exposure has made the mild colours very attractive.

Ik weet nu wat er zou mis zijn van een archief foto.
Soms zien in mijn eigen archief foto's waarvan ik; zeg, waarom heb ik dit nooit gebruikt.
Ik heb eens grote kuis gehouden in mijn archief, nog een achttien a twintig duizend blijven er achter, op een vijftal externe schijven van 1GB

Uw foto is weer perfect gemaakt met veel diepte en mooie oude gebouwen.
Echte kleuren en heel goed foto werk, bedankt.

Hello Paul,

Like you, when the weather is poor for photography, I do enjoy looking at my archives and finding shots that I had intended to post long ago!
This shot was certainly a good find.
We gain an overview of the old, defensive features, looking down on the more modern houses and street cafes.
It's a well composed shot, the city wall guiding to the well positioned tower, which in turn guides back to the castellated square tower.
Fine sharpness and well controlled light.

Sensational this view from the top of the walls, which give us a splendid view of the tower of Bujaco and the tower of Moctezuma Palace, one of the most beautiful corners of the city.
A fantastic photo, with beautiful natural colors, very good lighting and excellent sharpness.

lots of stone to admire here. this place looks huge, thick walls and such. the dome on the right is very cool indeed.
