Bicing!, a photo from Barcelona, Catalonia

Photographer's Note

The bicing is a new service in Barcelona.

It was born, more or less, two years ago and it consists in a lot of bikes for Barcelona's citizens. I think there are about 200 places to get/return the bikes with 50 bikes in each place so...a lot of bikes.

About the requirement to get a bike...pay the annual tax...and that's all.

So if you are visiting the city and see a lot of people with this kind of bikes...you know why.

Achei interessante sua nota e tambйm o fato de haver tantas bicicletas. Estive na Itбlia - Milano, e observei o mesmo, exatamente o mesmo modelo de bike.. acredito que quanto as formas de pagamento para aluga-la seja igual tambйm. De qualquer forma, gostei do seu POV, continue assim e tudo de bom. Regards,

Hello Oscar,

Very original and very efficience POV give this beautiful image full of rythm, of dynamims with a greta propsect effect. The superb red color arise very well in the image.

Excelente punto de vista y bokeh sobre la bicicleta. El nombre "bicing" para mi es una mezcla bastante rara de castellano y ingles.
Para tu nota: "and nice Oscar rents out bikes for foreign visiters" ;-) Mikel estaba tan contento.

El dнa que coja un bicing serб para atropellar al alcalde con ella y a mi vecino de abajo (no quiero mencionar tu nombre).

Horrible la foto, tanto como el bicing y el alcalde.

Very good to see such citybikes appearing in many cities. Quite strong perspective and graphic appearance. Good choice to use large aperture to blur the view into distance.

nice the perspective and the POV that lead-in the eye on the far end of the lines of the bicycles,until these to be blurred.I like the contrast of colours as the idea to present this image with this way.Well done.

i've seen the same type of setup in Denmark, Copenhagen.

Hi Oscar,
There is a nicely composed shot with perfect depth of field. It was good idea to use f/2.8 aperture to get a blur into distance bikes. Good colors, light and sharpness.
A couple years ago I had been reading about those bikes in Barcelona. It is a briliant idea to reduce pollution of the city. If you pay taxes you ride for free.

Awesome repetition effect in this fine capture!
I like the idea with the narrow DoF and focus on the nearest bike, the colour palette is effective in enhancing the bikes...
