View of the city center of Toledo, Spain, from a nearby hill. Located some 70 km south of Madrid, Toledo is a wonderful one-day excursion if staying on the capital of Spain.

Surrounded by the Tagus river, the city center is located on a hill, atop of which the tower of the Cathedral (left) and the imposing building of the Alcбzar stand out.

Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986, Toledo is the capital of the autonomous community of Castile - La Mancha.
