Photographer's Note

Batizovska dolina is a south-facing multilevel valley in the central part of the High Tatras. It is about 5 km long and is marked by glacial activity. The most beautiful lake in the valley is Batizovske pleso. In addition to it, there is also the Mal Batizovske Pliesko, Pliesko pod kostolkom and until late summer, the Batizovsk ok are hidden under the snow. There is no continuous water flow in Batizovsk dolina and even the Batizovsk pleso does not have a permanent inflow. The visible outflow from the tarn marks the beginning of the brook Batizovsk potok. It branches off and flows through cascades of Batizovsk spdy and through Batizovsk waterfalls. The stream flows through the historic village of Batizovce. The shortest access to Batizovsk pleso is from the Tatra settlement Vyn Hgy or along the Tatransk Magistrla from Popradsk pleso or from the other direction from Sliezsky dom and Velick pleso.
