Sneg je padavina u obliku ledenih kristala vode, koja se sastoji od mnostva pahuljica. Iako se sastoji od malih, nepravilnih delova, sneg je u stvari zrnasti materijal. Ima otvorenu i meku strukturu, dok se ne nadje pod spoljasnjim pritiskom. Sneg se formira kada vodena para sublimira visoko u atmosferi na temperaturi manjoj od 0°C (32°F), i nakon toga padne na zemlju.
