Small pleasures..., a photo from Cluj, West

Photographer's Note

Less about a place, but more about the people belonging to it. Kindly plays and pleasures in the crowd of the market...

Negreni - a village on the half way between Oradea and Cluj, in the West Carpathian Mountains. Where the valley of the river named Crisul Repede becames a bit larger, was place enough near/among the river to keep market.
I don't know if the tradition is continued till now, but there was once in a year a marketplace, three days long.
People - most from the surrounding villages, but also from over 100km - came with traditional products, most of them homemade. Also food, cereals, animals.

Taken with a russian camera named FED II, with a "shotgun" 350mm teleobjectiv from Zenit.

a really cute picture, a special moment.
Black and white is perfect, light, framing, DOF. great.
But most of all I like the people at the background and their hats. It looks like a shot from another century (and it is..)

Well seen, well captured. This excellent shot belongs to the same epoch as the camera - good old FED (Russian replica of Leica)

It is guite incredible how the gesture like this could tell us the whole story. I see the picture like the moment of attention of the unknown person which makes to another person the momentary pleasure and gratification. The expression of the woman it shows that in this moment she is forget all the momentarily problems.
