Photographer's Note

Tra i monumenti del paese, un posto d'onore spetta al Monastero Dealu e alla chiesa di San Nicola in un insieme architettonico restaurato anni piщ di cinquant'anni fa.
E'un convento situato su una collina vicino a Targoviste (6 km N).
La strada di accesso principale ha una lunghezza di 2 km con una salita che si snoda fino alla cima della collina.
Uno dei piщ antichi della Romania ha subito pochi cambiamenti nel corso del tempo, anche se non и stato risparmiato nei tempi duri che hanno colpito il Paese rumeno.
La prima chiesa fu edificata alla fine del XIV secolo durante il regno di Mircea il Vecchio.
Al suo posto, il Principe Radu cel Mare (1495-1508) costruм una grande chiesa in mattoni abbondantemente adornata.
Meno conosciuto rispetto ad altri, in tanti studi ad esso dedicati, и stata sempre sottolineata l'importanza di questo luogo di preghiera che ha giocato un ruolo di primo piano sulla scena della storia del Paese rumeno.
Le pitture che ornano gli interni della chiesa sono opera del 1515 del maestro Dobromir di Targoviste, in collaborazione con Jitian e Stanciu.
Nel 1985 la chiesa и stata ridipinta da Archimandrita Sofian Bogie .
La chiesa custodisce la tomba di Radu cel Mare e la sua bara con la testa di Michele il Bravo.

Among the monuments of the country, a place of honor goes to Dealu Monastery and the Church of St. Nicholas in a group of buildings restored more than fifty years ago.
It is a monastery situated on a hill near Targoviste (6 km N) . The main access road has a length of 2 km with a slope that leads up to the top of the hill.
One of the oldest in Romania has undergone little change over time, although it has not been saved in the hard times that have Romanian hit the country.
The first church was built in the late fourteenth century during the reign of Mircea the Old. Instead, Prince Radu cel Mare (1495-1508) built a large brick church abundantly decorated.
Less well known than others, in many studies dedicated to it, has always stressed the importance of this place of prayer that has played a leading role on the stage of history of the country of Romania.
The paintings that adorn the interior of the church are the work of the 1515 master Dobromir of Targoviste, in collaboration with Jitian and Stanciu. In 1985 the church was repainted by Archimandrite Sofian Bogie.
The church houses the tomb of Radu cel Mare and his coffin with the head of Michael the Brave.

Fantastic wall painting, clear outlines and multi-colors composition.
Well taken on higer view, dof and contrast are superb.
A bit dark on upper part( due to polarizer???), but altogether pleasent-to-watch image.
