Photographer's Note

Negru Voda Monastery is located in Campulung-Muscel, in Arges district, near the Transilvanian border. It was build in 1215 by Radu Negru (Black) Voievod (ruler). Later, it was rebuild by Basarab I and his son, Nicolae Alexandru. The last major architectural modification was made by Matei Basarab who transformed it into a monastery.

The Negru Voda architectural Complex is formed by "Paraclisul Domnesc" of the Royal Court, later The Big Monastery Church, The Small Church - bolnita - from the begining of the XVIII-th century, The Belfry Tower from the complex's entrance - XVII-th century, The Royal House - XVII-th century build on the grounds from the XIV-th century, Monks houses - XVIII-th century, other small buildings from the begining of the XIX-th century.

The fortifications form the XIV-th century are made with 9 meters wide (rocks and stones) and they are surrounded by an water ditch of 2,5 meters deep.

Hi Daniel,

Well composed, excellent soft color tone and a fine photograph with a good image!
I like the total composition as well as the contrast of grey and black. It is a work with something a mysterious charm though it is a very usual photograph.
It may depend on the gate and the arch.

Il est bon de se replonger parfois dans le passй pour en admirer l'architecture. Cette photo est bien composйe avec dans le cadre de ce porche la faзade d'un йdifice et les visiteurs qui s'en dйtachent.
