If you look carefully you can spot a McDonald's Restaurant at left. It's nice to see them blend in harmoniously with the local architecture and maintaining upkeep of the building. A lot of unused old buildings are allowed to fall into disrepair. In too many places around the world the garish architectural design of the restaurant chain stands out like a sore thumb. In the distance are the spires of the Metropolitan Cathedral.

Hello Chris,
Good view out from the shaded street with colorful umbrellas hang above, out to the square in sight.
Picture outcome is vivid and sharp, contrasting colors and shadow cast.

Hello Chris,
This umbrella fashion hadn't reached Timisoara in 2010 when I was there, but they brighten the view and cover what would have been the least interesting part of this photo, which is very well composed. The church tower makes me recognize this view.

Hello Chris,
Who needs a brolly with a beautiful day like that....
it does brings some 'jolly fun' and colourful to the dull street.
The people lead me to look further .... to the amazing green spires and surroundings with interesting architecture.
Don't mind seeing the restaurant chain but definitely not going in to eat :-)

p/s: Saltstraumen Maelstrom in Norway......WOW! I think the most dangerous are the 'whirlpools' not the current of the water. No way for a quick dip, to suck down .....:-(

Hello Chris,
The colourful umbrellas are a popular theme worldwide to cheer up a street and every time I find it a pleasant sight.
Especially under a bright blue sky.
The Metropolitan Cathedral looks like a beautiful religious building.

Hello Chris,

You chose an excellent spot for your photograph. Though the street is in shadows, the vibrant colours of the umbrellas lifts it, almost like encouraging you to look up to the heavens for light!
The buildings, either side are very different in style and colours but both act as an effective means of funnelling interest into the sunny area, ensuring that the entire photograph has been studied.

I was not in this city, but judging by this beautiful photo and some others that you have uploaded it looks very interesting, the great color of the umbrellas that adorn this street gives a beautiful chromatic effect.

I saw this only once in Jerusalem, but it is a very usual artwork around the globe as the painted colorful cows..
nice view showing the colors of the umbrellas and the architecture of the city around.
