Strong enough, a photo from Cluj, West

Photographer's Note

Alone among so many people... Asked him if I may help, but he just turned his head to left and right - so here's the photo about his struggle.
His coat, hat, and bags are/were traditional for the western, mountain part of Romania.

Negreni - a village on the half way between Oradea and Cluj, in the West Carpathian Mountains. Where the valley of the river named Crisul Repede becames a bit larger, was place enough near/among the river to keep market.
I don't know if the tradition is continued till now, but there was once in a year a marketplace, three days long.
People - most from the surrounding villages, but also from over 100km - came with traditional products, most of them homemade. Also food, cereals, animals.

Very interesting subject – and note, too. B&W works well creating old atmosphere.
Composition is good, but I think that the background could be simplier to highlight the main subject – even though the background works well with your note. Or perhaps you could have framed the image a bit tighter...

Great daily life capture Janos. The choice of BW is good and a bit grain in the photo adds to a fine total. Well done.

A very touching pic. The narrow framing at the top, leaving no space at all above the man, makes his load looking heavier.

It would have helped to play with DOF to eliminate unnecessary details on the background, but actually this is not so important here. FEDII, my God! And my father also had FEDI, know this model? It was like Leica, and the lense was from Germany.
