Minimalism: Street art, a photo from Iasi, East

Photographer's Note

Somewhere in Iași, a large city in north-eastern Romania near the border with Moldova, I saw this street crossing. There may have been some work going on, but I didn't see any persons busy here. Maybe it was their lunch hour.

The original photo, showing a wider and deeper view, also included cars, but I cropped it into this more minimalistic composition. I liked the combination of white lines and colourful short poles.

You can see the original in the WS.

With this photo I end my series of minimalism. I feel a need to go back to "normal" photos.

Hello Gert, the editing of your main shot works exceptionally well for this, the last of your minimalist series.
The vertical, colourful posts in strong contrast with the horizontal white painted lines on the road.
No distractions, an abstract work from the street furniture, excellent presentation.
Maybe you will return to this series in the future? I hope so as you have a good eye for it.

Interesantan pogled, dobar tekst ...
Uvek neke oznake na putu, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontratsom i perspektivom.
Dobar rad sa lepom fotografijom u radionci.
Problemi u saobracaju sa mnogo oznaka i prepreka.

Hi Gert,

The lines on the street and the posts have a graphical effect. The point of view is showing the details of of the posts. The light is giving good colors output. Have a nice day.

Frankly, Gert,
The wider scope on the WS has a better sight of the intersection, the crpopped version has the nature of being minimalistic, which was on your preferences.
anyway, a nice taken at this spot in town.

it is a marvelous minimalist compo, I liked the contrast of the B&W against the colors of the poles and, at same time, the graphic aspect of the lines in the ground. very beautiful.

Man skulle mеske forvente at de der smе stolper skulle vжre i de rumжske farver med rшdt, gult og blеt, men her ser du ogsе meget farverigt ud med den grе vej og de hvide striber. Godt set og fanget.

It has been an enjoyable series and pleasing to concentrate on small patterns within a wider context.
Your crop, from the big picture, has been very effective, concentrating our attention on the trio of bollards and their connections of white stripes.
I think you have enjoyed the challenge, too, and will return to this theme!

A curious minimalist composition, where the white stripes contrast with the colorful signposts, it seems that they warned of the street in poor condition judging by the wider view of the WS.
An effective color, along with a good management of lighting and sharpness.

The colours of Germany or Belgium! Excellent sharpness and graphism. Good depth and perspective with the layered composition. Iasi is one of only a few Romanian towns I haven't visited. Tfs!

I enjoyed your minimalist series! But I understand it can't go on forever. Just like any other journey.
Comparing the main image with the uncropped WS I think you chose probably the best possible crop. It was a good idea to keep exactly 3 poles in the frame - I like the way they form a triangle. The lines fill the remaining space nicely.
