Photographer's Note

...who will hate me for this, because she loves snow and has not been there.

Sirnea is a small village in the mountains close to Brasov. Quite a forgotten place, really nothing going on there, not even a shop to buy some bread, so if you go there youґll have to bring everything with you. But for a weekend in a cheap bed (without breakfast) itґs a nice place, embedded in a beautiful landscape.

Hi Johannes - Good vertical format which emphasises the fences - they divide the space up very well indeed. I like the low winter light and soft tones. The figure walking into the frame adds good human interest. Lovely! Rosemary

Hello Johannes,

Good choice of format to make it a real mountain to climb for the lonely figure at the bottom of the frame.

Great how the fence below and the moutain range above border the shot, with that long winding diagonal path in between.

The houses in the distance give the man below a goal to reach, which we see in this pov, but maybe the man himself does not yet see - making this is a picture of hope.

(But I still hate winter...)

A smart long vertical landscape, with a diagonal line (the path) climbed by a lonely man to reach the distant village. The lateral soft light gives volume to the picture.

Sharpness, exposure, chosen pov, dof, colors (not many), pp, contrasts, slim vertical format, black & white borders and, above all, composition are all oustanding features here! I love it all!

I remmember some similar winter pictures of Isabella . The composition is excellent , with the superb visual effect of the "Z" . Very good exposure in difficult light conditions .

Very nice composition with the path taking our eyes up through the picture towards the houses and then themountains. Great position for the person - looks like along trek! The lighting is good and the vertical format is perfect.

Beautiful gentle tone, depiction of the snow is really amazing. A man on the small pass to lead the eye to the depth of the photo is put in the perfect place. Fascinating composition.

Beautiful winter scene, so postcard like. Good decision to include the person, it gives the picutre a human touch. I like your pov and it has a good dof with sharp details. Good lighting. Well done, tfs.
