Old city gates of Brasov. In Medieval times Brasov was one of the seven "capital cities" of annexed Transylvania. As a part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the city was an important commercial and administrative center of the region.The city gates, parts of the defensive walls and almost all its bastions are still standing today and painfully slow conservation work also is ongoing...since long before I was born actually- and will end.. never, I guess? If we're lucky.

I have a shot of this attractive castle like entrance to the bg church in my gallery. A good wide angled shot with natural looking colour. Tfs!
