Expression, a photo from Porto, North

Photographer's Note

This is my first post using my new D70.
It was taken at my daughter's college end of the year party.
The little kids from kindergarden were dancing on stage with typicaly portuguese folklore clothes, and I caught the expression on this little fellow that seemed to convey a feeling of "what the hell am I doing here...??"
I am having some trouble with the sharpness of the D70 with the lenses I already had from my 601.
If any of you using the D70 out there have any info on sharpness issues, specialy with the Vivitar 28-80, I'd be much obliged to know.
It's NOT a backfocus problem as I tested the camera and all my lenses against it.

Those eyes are glorious, conveying the wonder and innocence of youth. This is a lovely capture, nicely composed with the figure offset and cropped tightly. I like the colors as well. I can't speak about your concerns over sharpness but this image works for me just the way it is. Thanks for sharing your work.

What a beautiful kid, I love those eyes and the hat. Excellent expression capture, the wonder and concentration.

Beautiful skin color, great light and contrast, absolut excellent compoced.

I do think it is a shame the small reflex light spot from the fash is her. 2 at the corner of the mouth, one in the the left eyebrow, and to very small in the bottom of both eyes.

The 2 big in both eyes shal be there, it give the eye gloss shine.

congratualtions Emanuel for this first post and shot with your D70... i know how excited it is since i bought mine a month ago...;-) nice shot and great eyes!

for the focus i resort more often than not to the manual focus;;; or maybe I need to get hold of all subtleties of the menu.. and there are quite a few...

Lovely shot. I like this very thight framing.
Colors are great and focus might not be as sharp as you want but for a portrait I like the very light softness.
I would blow his nose by removing this little thing in his right nostril.
