The place where windows are painted blue, a photo from Coimbra, North

Photographer's Note

No one knows for certain the reason why the windows and doors are painted BLUE. This is one of the mysteries still to solve, but the most recognized explanation is the isolation of the village and the arrival of a pail of blue paint.
Having no choice, the blue was imposed upon and is actually an integrant part of the architectonic ensemble for the village of Piуdгo.

As I told you in my last photo, Piуdгo is without doubt one of the most beautiful villages of Portugal. It is classified as a Public Interest Monument.

Hi Spoony, again you eye to spot appealing old details did not fail you on this one. The diagonal angle of taking the photo is well chosen, the textural detail in the stone wall is nice, and the partial desaturation is well made to enhance, well, a 'blue' mood.

Muito interessante este detalhe. A parede de pedras de diversos formatos e a janela encaixada da melhor maneira possнvel, parecendo nгo fazer parte do conjunto. Bom вngulo e enquadramento, cores e texturas.

Muy buena foto, con muy definidos detalles. Me gusta mucho la composicion y el contraste del color azul de la ventana con el oscuro de las piedras de la pared.
