Photographer's Note
Another photo of the same event. The "Blessing of the Animals" is a very ancient tradition that takes place every year, in May, in a small village of the Alentejo. On this day, usually a Saturday, most part of the inhabitants, adults and children, bring their animals to be blessed by the priest. Early in the morning there's a mass in the Parish Church, where people gather, and then people go on a procession to the fields, where the blessing takes place.
The children take their little pets: bunnies, chicks, kitten, birds or dogs to be blessed (I guess I even saw a Vietnamese pig there) and the adults take sheep, horses, cows.... It's surely one of the most interesting events I saw in the region lately.
I don't remember what was inside this basket, but it was surely a rabbit or a kitten.

Hi Ana
Local religious tradition comes alive when seeing this little fella, the kind of shot that brings lots of joy to our heart !! A peaceful image and just so evocative on a warm day, the layers of colours is delightful to look, altogether transforming this to a fabs picture, Congrats
Best regards

Hello Ana,
This is a smart composition. It may seem drastic to cut off the persons heads and chests, but it was a good decision to focus entirely on the animals (I trust your word that there is something alive hidden in the basket. But would a fast jumping rabbit stay there quietly?).
Kind regards,
Gert

Bonjour Ana,
Un cadrage assez intéressant. Le chien et les fleurs prennent la vedette tandis que le corps est coupé à la hauteur des épaules. Je me demande bien pourquoi, mais c'est intéressant.
Amicalement
Serge
