Photographer's Note

Nazare's past was a fishermen village , with a very good location on the Atlantic ocean, so naturally it became a resort town.
This overview of was taken from Sitio, built on a rock 110 m. above the old town.
(In future post I'll show the cliff itself).

SPECTACULAR shot Ike, the light over the roofs is perfect and the sharpness too. I like the white tongues that the sea forms.

Hello Ike,
Your high vantage point gives a good overview of this seaside town. I like the way the shoreline twists and turns across the frame. Also, the contrast between the red roofs and whitewashed walls. There is much detail to be seen.

Hi Ike,

The shape of the beach is an asset to the composition. The distance between the building in the foreground and the building in the background is giving depth to the scene. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the buildings. the late afternoon light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Ike,
Your POV is great, and the view below is beautiful. I like the patterns of the waves washing onto the sand. All of the white buildings with red roofs compliment the white foam very nicely, and the people are so tiny! :-)

this is a great overview, birds eye view of the beachfront and architecture.
the photo is broken down into thirds..making it very easy on the eye.
the water on the beach is probably the best element.

Hi Ike, Excellenty panorama of Nazare, made from the high cliffs. With all the houses with white walls and red roofs, it doesn't look like fisherman village, rather a tourists resort. fantastic wide beach. Now empty, in summer it is full of umbrellas.

I appreciate this new POV on this already well known place a lot because I remember from the time when I visited Nazare a tiny fishing village. Times have changed and your image shows outstandingly the recently built apartment houses. But the beach still remained what it was: a wonderful place to relax!

A good POV from on high. Were you standing on a headland when you took this? The red of the roofs contrasts really well agains the yellow sand and blue water. I like the squarish framing too and the excellent depth of field. Great job, have a good Sunday.

Very good sharpness considering you took this from very far away, the tiny people on the beach attesting it !

What a pleasing look out over the beachfront and seaside village Ike, this is really a lovely panorama! I particularly like the five distinct, yet mixed colors here with the turquoise water, white foam & facades, beige sand, green landscape cover and the red rooftops. Everything just flows so well together with this heightened point of view. This composition draws my eye up from the bottom of the frame and back out towards the top right corner as the pattern follows the curve of the beach. Great exposure here as well, all appears natural in tone and color. Gorgeous shot!

I really like the fantastic repeating pattern of white surf on the wet sand that draws the eye straight into this capture combined with perfect positioning of the houses and lovely splash of colour. A very effective composition and I love the feeling of depth in it too. Great shot, Congrats

A stunning aerial view of Nazare and its long beach at the Atlantic Ocean.
I like the alternation of red and white on the left part while the turbulent waves penetrate deep on the beach and they seem to try to surround a number of people.
The building in the left lower corner has a very remarkable roof.

Hello Ike,

You had the most wonderful view of the village and the beach from this elevated location and have been able yo compose a photograph with a strong diagonal across the frame.!
I cannot help but be drawn to the details of the incoming tide. The fingers of the sea look to be scalloped in an artistic, natural pattern all along the shoreline. It's beautiful.

brilliant scene, fantastic point of view allowed an extraordinary perspective. The area seems quite flat so it is hard to guess that you are actually on a rock and it feels more like a plane photo.
Great beach, I like the pattern made by the waves on the sand. Not too many people around.
The houses indicate a nice elegant seaside resort.
