Fireworks in the Nations's Park, a photo from Lisboa, South

Photographer's Note

Dear All,

This isn't the photo that i would like, but it's the best that i did.

The skies of Lisbon had been fulled of fireworks, with the exhibition of the 2006 Pyrotechnics World Championship, competition who happened in the month of September, with competitors all Saturdays.

Organized by the Lisbon City Council and produced by a Portuguese pyrotechnics group, the event started with the Italian team, which will be followed by the representatives form Germany (September 16) and from the USA (23).

On the last evening (September 30), the winner will be announced and there will be a final show created by the Portuguese group, which won’t be competing.

The winner ... was Germany

Hi Aires,
You've got quite a successful photo on your hands! It looks simply wonderful; I love seeing those streaks of light against the dark background, and the firecrackers at the top and bottom look great!

I always loved fireworks. Here you captured them extremely well with attractive reflections on the surface of the still water. The mix of colours is extremely fascinating.

Hello Aires.
These are great shots of the fireworks. This shot seems very abstract. The trails of light seem abbreviated somewhat. It is fantastic looking. They are like bright dashes along the black mat of a background. The workshop looks a little more like what one would see at the fireworks event; I like them both alot.

Technically excellent fireworks shot. And the performers seem to have perfect timing and rhyhm on the fireworks. No wonder they are at the championship level!
Exposure time well chosen to show the movement of the sparkles.

The bursting effect created by these beautiful fire works look unusal to me, than the one I'm used to see. I like as well the fire crackers which make a nice "bouquet".
