Photographer's Note

Cascais is a coastal town and a municipality in Portugal, 30 kilometres (19 miles) west of Lisbon in area known as the Portuguese Riviera. It is a cosmopolitan suburb of the Portuguese capital and one of the richest municipalities in Portugal.

The population in 2011 was 206,479, in an area of 97.40 square kilometres. The former fishing village gained fame as a resort for Portugal's royal family in the late 19th century and early 20th century. Nowadays, it is a popular holiday destination for both Portuguese and foreign tourists.

Good morning,
Another iconic postcard from that charming town at the ocean. I love the pavement, I notice that all Portuguese colonies still use it (Brazil, Macao, Cape Verde, Angola, etc.)

Hello Stephen,
This view is so pretty that it almost makes me laugh. It's like a painted drawing from a book for children. I imagine a little old lady with a cat living in the attic of the pink house, listening to the chimes of the bells every hour, every day getting dizzy from the wavy stripes of the square as she goes shopping. What a fantastic view.

Lepo pokazano mesto i arhitektura, dobar kontrast i ostrina, lepe boje, lepo uhvacen trenutak. Lepe fasade i prozori, lepi detalji. Lep zvonik sa satom.

how charming is that right? pretty charming to me!
I have to say that I didn't get around to this place, I think a stop at that O'Neills Pub would have been beneficial :)
nice to see that pink colour, it stands out well, and i like the double bells up top on the right. cheers
