Mermaid just left the scene, a photo from Algarve, South

Photographer's Note

Our first stop along the coast of Algarve was Albufeira. After a couple of days of relax, we travelled east and then again west to cover most attractive sports in Algarve. On the way from Albufeira to Lagos we stopped at a beautiful beach just west of Albufeira, called Praia de Sгo Rafael.

To be honest when I looked at my photos full of beach photos all with amazing orange cliffs around, I started to panic whether I will be able to figure out where the photos were actually taken. Luckily, I kept record of the locations I visited, and I was able to recreate all the stops in this trip.

I made the mistake that I photographed my wife on these rocks first after which I took photos of the place itself. Unfortunately, the damage has been done and my model has left trails on the wet sand.

You were lucky to take the mermaid home with you. Some would swim away, haha! The footprints do not bother me. Beautiful secluded beach with no touts in sight or rows of deck chairs and umbrellas. Tfs.

I was trying to see footprints ot tails-prints of the mermaid, Mariusz, but reckon it is only a fairytales...
Beautiful yet another Portugal rocky shores picture, well lit and has fine colors in combined composition.

Now I really would have liked to see a photo of the mermaid.
I've only seen one in my life and that was in Copenhagen and actually she was quite small :)
The name Albufeira is somewhere in my memory, but I can't remember for sure whether I was on this beach.
Splendid picture of a typical Algarve beach.
The distance between the rocks in the foreground and the cliffs that end in the sea gives good depth to the photo.

my last two cameras have a GPS and only when there are so many clouds the gps don't work. the cellphone needs only some antenna near to work.
a marvelous view of the beach with the shapes of these beautiful rocks like sculptures filling the FG.

Hello Mariusz,

You could have solved the mystery of the footprints by posting a lovely photograph of your wife as a w/s!

This is a lovely photograph, not only for its clarity and colours but for a well judged composition.
The f/g rock clusters are arranged on a diagonal, highly textured and with the sea touching their edges for a sense of movement.

Great composition of this wonderful beach, so different with those perforated rocks emerging from the sand and the waters, in the background the steep cliffs complete the view of this rugged coastline, the color of the sand is ideal.
Magnificent composition and color, as well as an excellent
