Photographer's Note

Just another detail of the same colourful house that I found in Уbidos, one of the best known Portuguese towns, situated a little north of Lisbon.
The old medieval town is situated within the walls of the beautiful castle. It is very charming and well preserved and there are usually many visitors during the day.

Ana, very bright, pleasant, well-composed shot. The colors are great, not only the painted walls but the plants on the landing. Cropping to leave the eaves of the building adds a lot of visual interest to the photo. Nicely done. Thanks.

Wonderful colors and a clean, unclustered framing have turned this shot in a real beauty. I love the simplicity of the composition and the beautiful light.
The fact that it in the colors of my favorite soccer club (FC Basel) just hit my eye immediately.

Ciao Ana,
sei bravissima nel trovare e ovviamente fotografare queste belle facciate dipinte.
Con questa hai fatto un altro centro!
E' anche singolare che la finestra,e il relativo bancone si trovi in una parte della facciata colarata in parte di azzurro e in parte di rosso.
Mi piace anche il momento nel quale hai fatto la foto che ti ha permesso di sfruttare le ombre che aggiungono movimento alla bella luce, mentre eccellente appare la nitidezza.

These types of images have long been some of my favorites...simple, colorful and consciously composed to really show the beauty of the less obvious. This looks to have been managed to perfection with splendid light balance and strong detail that makes the textures stand out. Great color contrast, you found quite an amazing little corner of town.

Hi Ana,

You're capturing well this house bya a good composition and very excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and pleasant to see the the wall with beautiful color contrast and charming door/window/handrail with a good design. It is also agreeable that the garden flower is placed in front of the door. The whole is harmonized and balanced well by a good arrangement and beautiful bright color combination. And, the shadow projected to the wall draws out an additional good effect in this image.

An absolutely appealing shot of an old facade bespeaks a time and place of this architecture, a typical representation of the local style. Its so well maintained but it's the combination of bold colors and mood attract viewers straighaway, technically I am very appreciative of all the perfectly straight lines and square corners. This close-up approach brings into equation more, the graphic part and the interplay of the two colours ...red and blue. The balcony and the window are the two critical elements which makes this picture work so well visually to me!

I like very much the way you have isolated and framed this fine detail giving it a fine sense of intimacy and allowing the viewer to enjoy its character and invent a context for it.
