Photographer's Note

White stork (Ciconia Ciconia) is quite a common sight in Polish countryside in the summer. Storks are quite long-distance migrants. They spend summers in Europe and winter in Africa. If you look at the map of their travel:

Poland seems to be one of their favourite destinations. In Africa, they stay usually in sub-Saharan part but some travel even further down to South Africa. I didnt actually go much to the countryside while visiting Poland for a while, so I was very impressed seeing this large bird relatively close this year.
In European folklore storks are responsible for bringing newborn babies to their parents.
