Photographer's Note
2 April 1947 the court announced its verdict, sentencing Hoess to death by hanging. The day after the sentence prisoners were directed to petition the authorities postulating that Hoess was killed in the camp. The execution was to be held on 14 April, but postponed it because it was feared that the inhabitants of the vicinity of Auschwitz will try to make lynching of Hoessie during transporting him to the camp.
In the picture on the gallows which he was hanged was the commander of the camp.

Hello Lukasz
Beautiful images without the gallows, but the text is instructive.
High quality work, interesting place.
Auschwitz is indeed a place that humanity will constantly reminded of human cruelty.
Very atmospheric scene,as if time stopped, as if the war continues.
The perfect job.
Best regards
Sasha
