Auschwitz I (10), a photo from Malopolskie, East

Photographer's Note

May 29, 1940 came from the concentration camp at Dachau group of prisoners belonging to the so-called. Aussenkommando led by SS-Untersturmfьhrer Beck. Its members consisted of: a prisoner of German nationality (Kapo) and 39 Poles, young men, mostly middle school students from Lodz. The commando is brought back with him wagon barbed wire fence next to the camp. Placed in the barracks of the former barracks kitchen and hired to build the first, makeshift fences, stretched on wooden poles.

hei Lukasz!!! a very original shot,great DOF.I didnt get the exif data,perhaps u put that on your note.Anyway this shot is extremely dramatic.Agreat feel of war could be raised of. Damn clarity man...

This is a very effective and moving image: simple but eloquent as it features an obvious symbol of imprisonment. The shot would have been effective in B/W, but the washed out Autumn colours, fallen leaves and mist all add to the pervasive mood of melancholy. Lest we forget...

an evocative and atmospheric composition. The colours, mist and cold feeling make the melancholy so palpable. A striking image and tribute to all the poor lost souls, may they rest in peace. Moving imagery.

I've been following your Auschwitz series. All shots are good, but this one really stands out for me. It's not the classical scene, focussing on these small details make it a more dreamy picture, leaving more room for our minds to wander and reflect.

Great textures, excellent choice of focus...by far my favourite in your series so far.
