Photographer's Note

During the existence of the camps about 700 prisoners tried to escape, of which about 300 - successful. You are certainly giving us some very bleak pictures, form this very bleak place.

This is a neat picture, well seen, the symbolic barrier of the window frame, against the austere outside and the further barriers. Of course, this weather would have been hardship enough.

My visit here was curtailed by a tremondous thunderstorm, and we had to clear the open areas for our own safety, but it was an anguishing place nevertheless. I love the near B+W effect of your photography, very good indeed.
