Photographer's Note
Lofoten | Bøstad | Torvdalsveien
The E10 on the Lofoten and Vesteralen is mostly not much higher than sea level but sometimes you get a little pass and then you can appreciate a wide view on the landscape, just like on this photo, with the lake Heimematsvatnet in front of us and the small town Bøstad on the right.
Bøstad is a village in the municipality of Vestvågøy in Nordland. It is located along the European route, E10 highway, just ne t to the hamlet of Borg in the central part of the island of Vestvågøya in the Lofoten archipelago.

Hello Dear Viviane,
When I see photographs from Lofoten, I marvel at how vast and how very unspoilt everything seems. When you get an elevated spot, like this, how can you possibly resist taking a photograph!
The natural blues and greens predominate, with the odd splash of white so when a red building appears in a strong position, it grabs our attention! Is this a store? It certainly does not resemble a house! Whatever, it is certainly different from all other features which seem so very natural and integrate into the beautiful scenery.
Big hugs,
Bev :-)

Bonjour Viviane,
I've enjoyed your Norway series as it reminds me of the years I spent living and working there. I just wish I'd taken the time to travel the length of it. I like the crisp details in this image and the way the peninsula and then the snow on the mountains lead my eye to the clouds in the sky.
As I scrolled down to read your note, my browser cropped the top portion of your photo making me realize how centered your horizon is. In this case I think you could have cropped some of the sky, raising the horizon and strengthening the picture.
Warm regards,
Mark

Hello dear Viviane,
Again, a fascinating note and a beautiful photograph to accompany it. Yes, I suppose if most of this road runs just above sea level then if the road suddenly decides to climb uphill, then you have an opportunity to achieve a wider view from a higher viewpoint.
And what a gorgeous landscape laid out before you here! The air looks so clear and the scenery so fresh and pristine with the distant snow-capped mountains beautifully portrayed against a glorious sky. And, just as Bev has mentioned, that little red store at bottom right really holds the composition together perfectly.
Lovely light and colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and clarity.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hi Viviane
you should take a look at my newest Norway post, its something similar to this one (kind of, small homes scattering the landscape with mountains). The difference of course will be the lack of snow in your photo hahaha. WOW what a difference from my experience. and you had a wonderful day too, clear bright blue sky, the mountains are way back but still very clear. wonderful shot. cheers
Craig
