Photographer's Note

View of Tromsш Bridge, the place where I captured my previous uploads. This one is from earlier visit in 2016. It is almost midnight and I'm onboard Hurtigruten ship, arriving from Hammerfest.
Tromsш Bridge was opened in 1960. The bridge is just over 1 km long and and has 38 metres maximum clearance to the sea. In 1994 another connection to the city, the Tromsшysund Tunnel was opened to relieve congestion.

Great effect on late summer evening light, Kari.
The returning pattern of the bridge wonderfully reflected over water.

Hello Kari,
The bridge and its reflection created very fine diagonals almost coming together at the left edge of the photo. These lines are nicely counterbalanced by the verticals of the pillars... and their reflections. The dark bridge seen against the almost as dark sky and water makes the composition quite sophisticated. The lamps - and reflections - are beautiful details, and I also like the artistically distorted reflections of the pillars on the right side. It's in every way an attractive photo.

Hello Kari,
A great shot of the long and high bridge. It makes a great diagonal through the composition, along with its reflections. The distorted bit of reflection in the foreground adds an artistic touch.

Hello Kari,

Did you know that there were 2 bridges in Tromso? You couldn't really tell unless you had been to the cablecar and lookout.

Unfortunately the weather was similar to this shot when I was there. Overcast and raining. Good sharpness and great reflections. Tfs!

It has worked extremely well!
Your composition is excellent, by using a viewpoint where the bridge and its reflections converge, creating a eye-catching 'V' shape.

Hello Kari, an example of amazing technology, this is a wonderful view where the bridge and its reflection create an eye catching triangle.
The lights that we see on the bridge are nicely reflected on the water.
There is just enough light for us to be able to see the buildings on the far bank.

Hi Kari
Tromsш, Norway's northernmost city, is said to have been created because of herring fishing in the past. The city of Tromsш, the gateway to the Arctic, is famous recently. Aurora can be observed and midnight sun in summer and polar night in winter are famous areas. How did thay build such a beautiful bridge?
The bridge design is very modern. You've got a good eye on this.

Hi Kari,
indeed very bright as for midnight but I suppose this is what makes this destination so special.
It seems you have been there very close to summer solstice with the longest days in the year.
I guess it means they have never blue hour there in that season at least.
