Photographer's Note

View of Tromsdalen, a suburb of Tromsш on the mainland. Tromsdalen Church, also known as the Arctic Cathedral, in the middle. The church was designed by the architect Jan Inge Hovig and built in 1965. I took this shot from the bridge connecting the city centre to the mainland. This view is not actually visible to the bare eyes due to bridge fence. But I was able to put my hand through the fence, with a compact camera and a wristband.

Hello Kari,
The building that immediately catches the eye is of course Tromsdalen Church.
A very remarkable and beautiful design and a church where certainly no snow remains on the roof.
On the other hand, we can still see snow on the mountain slopes in the background at the end of July.
Splendid combination of a city view and its natural surroundings.

A great view of the city in front of the majestic slopes in the distance. It was a beautiful and clear day. The modern church looks great and stands out very nicely from its surroundings.

Hello Kari, the church is an interesting focal point, surrounded by smaller buildings, and backed by the forests and mountains.
You did a good job putting the camera through the fence, you have made a good picture.
I wonder as I look at the church, would you be able to get some good reflections from the glass wall?

I have to say, you've been posting some high quality views lately, this is another great example. Love the church, it stands out so well. Personally, I like this style more than the classic European style we so often see in photos. This is more modern, more sleek. great shot of the city. cheers

At first I thought that the church was well out of place in this setting but strangely it does fit with its high peak fitting with the mountain scenery. A good one.

Ha ! Ha! Kari, I would have loved to see a picture of you, taking this picture!

The scenery is beautiful but our attention is immediately captured by the unusually shaped church! It is like a transparent mountain in-between the mountains! In a land which probably experiences much snow, this is a good design!
You have shown a fine photograph of the town and its surroundings.
