Hello Hans,

It's hard to come up with totally original photographs these days, especially as we have all been influenced by scenes and compositions that we like. But, I don't think I have ever seen a photograph of a windmill overlooking houses so closely!
The windmill seems to on vigil, overlooking the nearby houses.
The photograph has a fine composition and uses the row of houses very well, both as a guide and to create a sense of perspective.
The light has strong contrasts but you have dealt with it well.

Dag Hans,

Bedankt om veelvuldig mijn foto's op TE te bezoeken.
Misschien ben ik juist wanneer ik zeg, dat we in het oude gedeelte van Haarlem zijn.
Heel mooi straat foto met de molen in de achtergrond.
Maar deze zorgt wel voor perfect Nederlands plaatje.
Mooi foto werk Hans, wel enkele jaren oud, maar daar geen datum op.
Goed gedaan, bedankt.

Je prйsume qu'on doit presque s'attendre а voir un moulin а vent dans toutes les photos au Pays Bas et j'aime beaucoup cela . Ils sont beaux et bien entretenus et surtout typiques.

J'aime cette voie bordйe d'un mйlange de maisons anciennes et plus rйcentes.

Altijd leuk om foto's uit Haarlem te zien, een mooie gezicht op de gevels van dit straatje waar de Adriaan bovenuit torent op deze zonnige dag.

Dag Hans,
Van 1779 klopt natuurlijk niet helemaal want de molen die er nu staat is van 2002 en maakte een eind aan het 70 jarig Adriaan-loze tijdperk na de brand in 1932.
Maar deze versie is natuurlijk wel een goede kopie van de oorspronkelijke molen uit 1779
Mooi hoe je de Papentorenvest als voorgrond hebt gebruikt.

Hi Hans,
nice combination of the traditional windmill and the narrow stylish street in the foreground.
The blue sky adds another color. Strong shadows but they make the scene appear very real.
