Cadzand bad II, a photo from Zeeland, South

Photographer's Note

A picture taken yesterday during us strolls at Cadzand Netherlands Zeeland, on the left side can you see the Belgium border, a lovely summer place for tourists.
The history of Cadzand prayed and surroundings strongly coincide with the sea, and the growth of country in the last 2000 year. The Zwingeul, up to some hundreds of years extremely important sea arm suffered, its stamp has pressed on the surroundings, and is inhabitants. We start our history of the Zwin about 2000 years ago. The coast region of the Netherlands and Belgium, and the delta of the Schelde, existed mainly from clay, and dunes, small islands, sand-banks, and much more vast creeks .

De geschiedenis van Cadzand Bad en omgeving hangt sterk samen met de zee, en de aanwas van land in de laatste 2000 jaar. De Zwingeul, een tot enkele honderden jaren geleden uitermate belangrijke zeearm, heeft zijn stempel gedrukt op de omgeving, en zijn inwoners. We beginnen onze geschiedenis van het zwin zo'n 2000 jaar geleden. De kuststreek van Nederland en Belgiл, en de delta van de Schelde, bestond voornamelijk uit schorren, kwelders, en duinen, eilandjes, zandbanken, en veel meer uitgebreide waterlopen.

I always find photographing our dunes and beach a difficult job, maybe it's the reason, that the landscape is not very spectacular.
But, John, in this picture, you have captured "something" in your picture, an unreal look, an interesting space and I like the brown colours. Also the light is very good, a very nice landscape !

C'est curieux ces monticules qui s'йparpillent sur cette grande plage. Les dunes sont-elles protйgйes contre les promeneurs ; en France, certaines dunes sont interdites au public pour prйserver la nature.
Un vaste paysage marin trиs agrйable.

Erg leuk om een foto van het mij oh zo vertrouwd plankier te treffen. En dan nog gisteren geschoten. Mooi warm licht. In de zomer zijn de mensen een stuk schaarser gkleed.

A good shot John and quite something different from your series. I like the landscape well captured here with not least intersting details like the 'bridge' going out there. Good coulours with a fine contrast between sea and land

This picture is a different approach in your themes and series, and is really a great work of composition and beauty. A excelent angle of view, half sky and half ground, the diagonal of the wood path, finishing in the middle of the frame. Great colors and composition.

This is a very beautiful place whith this "passerelle", the light is giving shapes to the relieves and the depth is excellent.
Well done for this point of view which gives the wideness from this sandy area. Nice to see too that this is a good place for "la promenade du Dimanche"

Het is weer eens wat anders John en zeker niet verkeerd anders. Ik vind hem mooi, ruimtelijk, mooi van kleuren, goed van samenstelling zeker aardig om naar te kijken.
Ik zie dit graag van U andere dingen, om te laten zien hoe U werkelijk gegroeid bent. Heel mooi werk

Hi John, An excellent bird's eye view of the ocean front. The people in the picture are well used as reference for the scales, the large size on the bridge and much smaller size next to the ocean. The color is beautiful and nice contrast.

Great presentation of this coastal landscape, John. Even in this flat setting you managed to include your trademark diagonal element with the wooden walkway leading to the beach. Nice color tones, well accentuated by the afternoon light. The people scattered across the scene make for a nice vivid detail in the compo.

You sure had some excellent lighting here for this shot. The clarity and depth are exceptional. I like the presence of the people because it brings the place alive. I like the cropping of this shot, as you included all the important facets of the foreground and sky. Nicely done!

Bedankt voor uw informatieve note! Mooie foto. Prachtige kleuren en grappig om al die mensen zo te zien lopen.

Als het mooi weer is, moet ik ook maar weer eens naar de kust gaan. Liefst naar de westkust van Denemarken, omdat ik die nog niet zo goed ken en nog bredere legere stranden heeft dan Nederland. De oostkust, waaraan ik woon heeft alleen maar kleine strandjes.

Uw foto geeft me zin in zon, zee strand;)

I like this one very much.
The low sun is shaping the landscape with long shadows and people are giving it a scale. The large peacefull sky creates a feeling of endless space. The colors are strongly contrasting yet they remain soft.

Nice path to the sea, John. The lighting is, as in most of your shots, well handled. The details in this, especially on tohe sand, are very good. And so is the view with a nice bit of foreground marking your spot over the area. The path then brings us into the beach where it disappears into the sand and opens up the image to us. And the people form a nice line to the sea in the same fashion. More confined on the path and then gradually spreading out after that to the sea. Well done.

Hi John,
Beautiful beach although it seems quite cold with people tightly dressed but the light is pleasant. The wooden pathway adds a nice element, leading the eye into the centre.
Fantastic open space.
