Morning Has Broken, a photo from Noord-Holland, South

Photographer's Note

You see the The Hoofdvaart, a canal that runs the length of the Haarlemmermeer-polder, from north-northeast to south-southwest.

In the north, the Hoofdvaart begins at the pumping-station "Lynden" in Lijnden at the Ringvaart ( ring canal around the Haarlemmermeer-polder ), in the south this happens at the pumping-station "Leeghwater" in Buitenkaag.

These pumping-stations pump the water from the canal into the Ringvaart, in order to keep the polder dry.

From north to south the canal runs through the villages Lijnden, Hoofddorp, Nieuw-Vennep ( where I live ), Abbenes and Buitenkaag.

The Hoofdvaart runs over a length of 20 km straight through the polder, only a small nod to Abbenes is in.

Hallo Hans,
Is dit de Hoofdvaart bij Hoofddorp en herken ik daar een van de Calatravabruggen of vergis ik me nu? Prachtige foto met een mooie herhaling van alle bomen, die ook nog eens extra worden gespiegeld in het water. Het zonlicht dat langzaam door de mist breekt is ook erg fraai.

Dag Hans,
Ik dacht deze Vaart al te herkennen. En jawel; de lier (of is het de harp) van Calatrava in de verte.
Je brengt me op een idee om eerdaags als het weer eens lekker zonnig is om hier weer na toe te fietsen voor een nieuwe serie.
Mooie foto met dat beetje nevel. Als we goed doorgaan met oefenen steken we John binnenkort nog naar de kroon ;- )

Dag Hans,

Ik las het al dat de foto eraan kwam, en wat een foto echt eentje uit mijn geheugen.
De nevel en de mistige atmosfeer en de mooie weerspiegeling van de bomen maakt de foto af.
Maar het perspectief en diepte beeld niet vergeten.
Voor mij vier punten waard, bedankt.

Beautiful view of the canal. The picture is similar to many photos shown here by John from Belgium. fantastic depth, nice haze and we can imagine that it is just the beginning of the day. Nice bridge. Great moment chosen.

Mooie titel passend bij dit poлtisch landschap.
Goed perspectief met de bomenrijen en hun weerspiegeling in het kanaal.
De ochtendmist bepaalt de sfeer.

an interesting, dynamic composition, all the horizontal lines of the scenery converge towards a significant element in the background whilst we can turn to the right and have a glimpse of the flat surrounding landscape. Morning has broken, here, on a misty morning but that has not prevented you from taking an extraordinarily beautiful photograph.
You have positioned your camera perfectly to create a wonderful linear perspective from the trees and their reflections edging the canal.
The scene is iconically Dutch.
